Google Cloud
From defining their rebrand to helping announce the arrival of their data centers to the world, I spent nearly a year at the heart of the Google Cloud brand.
By the end of it, I understood about 5% of what they do.
Welcome to Cloudstyle
This video was made to introduce Cloudstyle to internal and partner teams.
It features a cameo from a line I put into a deck as a placeholder, “Super Secure Security,” which ended up becoming one of the most prominent Google Cloud advertising lines, and one of my most phoned-in lines, all at once.
Turns out, even when I’m off, I’m on.
The Cloud made for showing off my skillset
To amplify Google Cloud’s message as they prepared to open their new data centers around the world, we worked with regional marketing teams to develop visual and copy elements, which incorporated creative elements specific to each local region, but also had global appeal. In a somewhat hybrid role, I provided thematic direction and design feedback for how regions were represented in addition to all copy and content.
Using custom design elements, created by photographing physical cut-paper objects and cityscapes, we created print, digital, and out-of-home communications and content that celebrated each region’s local culture. The bespoke, handcrafted nature of the designs communicated Google Cloud’s attention to detail as well as their commitment to amplifying and supporting the best elements of each launch region.
